Baroque and classical cellist | Music pedadogue
Carla Rovirosa was born in Barcelona and started playing the cello at the age of four. After completing her bachelor degree in Barcelona with the cellist Amparo Lacruz, she started her studies in baroque cello in 2014 at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Switzerland) with Christophe Coin and Petr Skalka.
Carla is active with many orchestras around Europe including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, La Cetra Barockorchester, Accademia Barocca Lucernensis, Nordic Baroque Orchestra and Academia Montis Regalis, among others. She has performed with outstanding musicians such as Amandine Beyer, Andrea Marcon, Sir Simon Rattle, Andreas Bötticher, Alessandro de Marchi and taken part in prestigious festivals including Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Innsbrucker Festwochen für Alte Musik, Ryedale Festival, and Barokkfest in Trondheim.
She is a co-founder of Conjunt Atria, an early music ensemble based in Barcelona, as well as the cellist of Il Dolce Conforto directed by Franziska Fleischanderl.
Aside from her musical career, Carla has a degree in Humanities and she has a strong interest in education. She is currently studying Waldorf Pedagogy and Music and Movement in ZHdK. She created her own personal educational project to make people connect through music and movement.
